The Office for Student Success provides leadership in supporting undergraduate success—whether exploratory or declared—by guiding students through academic and personal challenges with clear policies, accessible resources, and flexible pathways. Our team facilitates student independence by providing specialized advising and case management for attendance verification, academic standing, and leaves of absence. By offering one-on-one appointments and developing strategies for academic recovery and resilience in the face of life challenges such as grief, illness, or financial strain, we serve as a vital bridge between faculty advisors and campus resources to ensure student persistence and alternative degree completion.
Partnering closely with CLAS faculty and staff, the office manages the College’s Student Concern System, Faculty Feedback Requests, and Attendance Verification processes to address obstacles to learning and engagement. Faculty are encouraged to refer struggling students via the Slate for Student Success Portal or consult the office for clarification on procedures relating to incomplete grades and probation status. Additionally, the team collaborates with departments to support students returning from leave and organizes faculty-led workshops on the "soft skills" necessary for student success. Please note that while we provide comprehensive support, escalated or crisis-level situations should be referred directly to the UCC, SHC, Public Safety, BIT, or CARE
