The Office for Professional Development in the Ellis Center offers programming, mentoring support, and academic courses that enable students to identify their strengths, explore professional and educational options, and develop the skills necessary to prepare for professional life. Through this process, we empower students to pursue their aspirations.
The Professional Development curricular component -- Arts and Sciences Professional Development (ASPD) -- provides students with a foundation for learning how their academic knowledge and skills transfer into the professional world. Students learn how to create a professional résumé, research careers and industries, identify internships, answer job interview questions, and network with alumni. Additional courses offered to enhance professional growth include the Legal Profession, Professional Communication, Networking for Success, Social Networking, Creativity and Innovation, Introduction to Professional Writing, and others.
The BRIDGE Society in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is a student-led organization designed to help students build relationships with Villanova alumni; inspire both student professional development and alumni engagement; and provide a forum for students to gain the experience necessary to pursue their professional goals.
The BRIDGE Society provides an opportunity for students to identify with the College, in addition to their major; creates the opportunity for student leadership within the College; gives students the opportunity to explore potential career paths; and meet alumni and employers in their fields of interest.
