About:

The Artificial Intelligence Engineering Concentration provides students with a basic foundation in artificial intelligence (AI), enabling the student to successfully integrate AI applications into their chosen engineering discipline. Through a combination of core and elective courses, students can tailor the minor to match their individual interests and career goals.

The AI Engineering Concentration is designed to help students:

  • Understand and apply the foundational principles that underpin artificial intelligence (AI) and machine
    learning (ML) techniques.
  • Analyze and model data effectively using modern AI/ML tools and techniques to extract meaningful
    insights.
  • Develop practical skills in developing, training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models to
solve engineering and real-world problems within their discipline.
  • Recognize the ethical and societal implications of AI by fostering awareness of responsible AI/ML
    practices.

Requirements:

The concentration requires the successful completion of three courses (a minimum of 9 credits), one of which is required, two of which are elective courses.
