LAW 7162 :
Intl Intell Property

Intellectual property is often one of the most important assets U.S. corporations own, and must protect, both at home and abroad. This course examines the system governing the international intellectual property system, including TRIPs (Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property) which is an important instrument within the WTO (World Trade Organization) regime. The class focuses on the intricacies of this structure, including: patents, copyrights and trademarks; the international intellectual property issues faced by both large and small firms; and advising clients on international intellectual property issues that may be significant in international business transactions.
