LAW 5026 :
Divorce Practice & Proc

**Prerequisite: Family Law (7025) or experience in family law through employment or clinical work** This class is a two-credit practical applications course focusing on Pennsylvania divorce practice and procedure. In particular, we will examine the economic issues associated with divorce and separation. The course will not address child custody and child support issues. We expect that students completing this class will have a working knowledge of Pennsylvania substantive and procedural law on divorce, equitable distribution and ancillary economic issues. Further, students will be versed in strategic case planning, interviewing, counseling and negotiating. It is expected that students have already received an introduction to family law by having taken a prior course or through work or clinical experience.
