LAW 7147 :
Sexuality and the Law

This course will address the law on issues relating to sexuality and sexual orientation. The course will adopt a historical and comparative perspective in examining the development of statutory law and constitutional doctrine regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and gender-identity- specific legal issues. The course will address the role of the law in shaping the social meaning of sexuality and examine related developments in the law in a variety of contexts, including employment, education, marriage, family relationships and the military.
