Externship:NLRB

3L Students ONLY PREREQUISITE: Labor Law I (7036) Students participating this program will serve as externs in the Region IV office of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Philadelphia. Attorneys on staff at the regional office will supervise student-externs. Each extern will be required to spend twelve (12) hours per week at the regional office. Externs will participate in the work of the practice cases, processing representation cases, conducting representation elections, investigating challenges to ballots and objections in election cases, legal research, and attending hearings in unfair labor practice and election cases. In addition, each extern will be required to meet periodically with the Law School supervisor and to submit a written report, toward the end of the semester, to the supervisor in which the extern will describe and evaluate the externship experience. Grading will be on a pass/fail basis. Their supervising attorneys will evaluate students; however, the final grade will be the responsibility of the Law School supervisor. Students interested in the NLRB Externship for the fall semester must provide Professor Cannon with a current transcript and resume not later than March 20th; those interested in the spring semester must provide him with those materials not later than September 20th. A student must have completed Labor Law I to be considered for the Externship.
