VSB offers a four-year, integrated advising model designed to support students from orientation through graduation. Professional Academic Advisors, student Peer Advisors, and Faculty Mentors help students explore their academic and career goals, make informed decisions, and engage fully in the Villanova community while preparing to become socially responsible global citizens.
Each first-year student is paired with an Academic Advisor and a Peer Advisor. Academic Advisors guide students through the transition to college, assist with course selection and registration, and support planning related to majors, study abroad, experiential learning, and post-graduation goals.
Transfer students are also supported throughout their tenure in VSB by an academic advisor dedicated to addressing their unique challenges and concerns and helping them navigate their transition from another college to VSB. Transfer students have full access to all VSB opportunities and programming.
VSB Peer Advisors—sophomore, junior, and senior business students—mentor first-year students through individual and group interactions. They provide guidance on the transition to college, academics, involvement, and professional opportunities. The program has been generously sponsored by EY since fall 2022.
First-year students must meet with their Academic Advisor or Peer Advisor during the course registration period to review their schedule and receive their unique registration PIN. These meetings are critical to ensure that students progress successfully through their degree program. However, all students are encouraged to meet with their Peer Advisor or Academic Advisor at any time throughout the year.
Faculty Mentors provide guidance on selecting majors and minors, exploring career paths, and identifying relevant opportunities. They also recommend electives, secondary majors, and minors to help students deepen their knowledge and pursue their academic interests. Faculty Mentors are available to all VSB undergraduate students throughout their four years.
The VSB Peer Tutor Program provides free academic support through drop-in hours and scheduled appointments, helping students strengthen their understanding of course material and develop effective learning strategies.
