Health Care Consumer Law

<b>Open to law students and graduate nurses</b><p> This interdisciplinary course addresses the interface of healthcare law and the healthcare delivery system and explores its influence on patient outcomes. Health care law will be analyzed and applied to the understanding of health care access, quality and cost. Emphasis is placed on the health and legal professions and explores policy influence and its impact on patient outcomes. Participants will explore and better understand the shared opportunities for systemic and individual patient advocacy, facilitating dialogue between disciplines.</P> <P>The course is open to graduate nursing students and law students who have completed their first year. Enrollment is capped at 22 (11 students from each school). </P>
