Criminal Prosecution 21st Cent

The theme of this course will be the changing role of the prosecutor, from managing cases initiated through police activity to proactively problem solving, and attempting to reduce crime and recidivism through a more holistic approach. The course will start with a comparative evaluation of prosecution roles in other legal systems and the evolution of the American prosecutor, with particular emphasis on the wide latitude and discretion afforded American prosecutors.
