LAW 7121 :
Advanced Torts

This course will cover topics in the law of torts that are not covered or covered only lightly in the first-year torts course, including products liability, insurance, economic and business torts (misrepresentation, fraud, interference with contracts, interference with prospective economic advantage, unfair competition), defamation, and privacy (public disclosure of private facts, false light, intrusion, appropriation). The course may also explore topics in torts theory (intention, causation, and responsibility) and in torts and public policy (tort reform proposals, mass torts, preemption, federalism and tort law, alternatives to the current tort system, worker's compensation, and no-fault regimes).
