International Finance

This course will survey the field of international financial services. It will cover, among other things, the international aspects of the regulation of U.S. securities (including the distribution and trading of securities issued by foreign companies in the U.S., and the distribution outside the U.S. of securities issued by U.S. companies); the international aspects of U.S. banking regulations (focusing on foreign banks serving U.S. customers and U.S. banks serving foreign customers); currency practices and exchange restrictions; techniques for hedging of foreign exchange risks, including the use of currency futures, options, and swaps; project finance; international capital markets; and payment clearing and settlement systems. The course is designed for students interested in the international dimensions of corporate law (including securities, banking, and finance).
