**PREREQUISITE or COREQUISITE: Advanced Criminal Procedure** The course focuses on the more complex aspects of criminal litigation, such as prosecutorial discretion, negotiations and plea bargaining, pre-trial discovery, and sentencing, all in the context of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure and constitutional and statutory law. The course examines these aspects from the point of view of the prosecution and the defense. The class also includes issues in complex federal crimes, including parallel proceedings.
