Cross-Campus Travel Time Policy

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidance for graduate and undergraduate students to assist in academic schedule planning during the registration process which will allow for reasonable travel time between campuses.

Students may not register for classes that are scheduled consecutively and meet within 30 minutes of class beginning and ending times, if travel is required between the campuses based on the classroom assignment published in the Master Schedule. This “30-minute rule” is designed to ensure students have enough time to travel between campuses for classes.

The Office of the Registrar (RO) will publish guidance on the registration process for students to be aware of campus location when selecting courses each term. In collaboration with University Technology Services (UTS), reports will be created to identify students with consecutive classes taught on two different campuses. These reports will be distributed to the colleges and advisors. Advisors will connect with students by recommending the necessary registration changes to allow for enough travel time between campuses for timely class attendance.
