Rhetoric, Identity & Conflict

Focused reading of contemporary rhetorical theorists. Examines the cultural use of symbols for the generation of community and/or the promotion of social conflict; rhetoric as performed through ritual acts; and correct and incorrect enactment resulting in social acceptance and alienation.
