Academic Progress for Certificate Students

Students enrolled in the College of Professional Studies’ Undergraduate and Post Baccalaureate Certificate programs are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 except for the Certificate in Pre-Health Professions which requires a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA. Students who’s cumulative or semester GPA fall below the required minimum for their program will be reviewed by the Academic Standing Committee of the college for appropriate action. Typically, the student will either be placed on academic probation or dismissed. While on academic probation, students are limited to a schedule of courses determined by the CPS Academic Standing Committee.

To qualify for earning a Certificate, in addition to completing all the courses prescribed for the Certificate sought, a student must earn the minimum cumulative grade point average required of the Certificate. Courses used to satisfy the Certificate may not be taken on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.
